Viewers have the same thought after Zelenskyy explained why he didn’t wear a suit to the White House

As one president accused another of “gambling with World War III,” an entirely different topic caught people’s attention during their meeting.

Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a tense exchange at the Oval Office yesterday (February 28), leading to the Ukrainian leader leaving the White House earlier than expected.

While the world focused on Trump’s accusation that Zelenskyy was “gambling with the lives of millions of people,” a reporter shifted the conversation in an unexpected direction—bringing up something completely unrelated.

Now, people online are all reacting to the same thing: Zelenskyy’s explanation for not wearing a suit. Yes, instead of the high-stakes political discussions, one journalist chose to ask the Ukrainian president about his outfit ahead of a scheduled minerals agreement signing.

Brian Glenn, the Chief White House Correspondent for the conservative network Real America’s Voice—and also the partner of Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene—is known for his largely pro-Trump reporting.

During a press event, Glenn took issue with President Zelenskyy’s attire, openly questioning his choice of clothing.

“My second question for President Zelenskyy, do you ever, why don’t you wear a suit? Why don’t you wear a suit?” Glenn asked.

He pressed further, saying, “You’re the highest level in this country’s office and you refuse to wear a suit. Just want to see if you, do you own a suit?”

Glenn then added that many Americans perceive this as a sign of disrespect, stating, “A lot of Americans have problems with you not respecting the dignity of his office.”

Zelenskyy was criticised for his clothing

When questioned about his choice of attire, Zelenskyy kept it straightforward: “I will wear costume after this war will finish.”

Then, addressing Glenn’s remark directly, he added: “Maybe something like yours, maybe something better. We will see, maybe something cheaper.”

Meanwhile, Greene praised Glenn for raising what she considered an important issue. However, on social media, many were quick to call out the irony—especially since one of Trump’s well-known allies, Elon Musk, also rarely opts for formal suits.

One user on X didn’t hold back: “This dude has the audacity to ask Zelenskyy why he’s not wearing a shirt… Go ask Musk the same thing, you little lackey p**ck. And KUDOS to how Zelenskyy answered.”

Musk recently wore a T-shirt to the Oval Office

People started sharing old photos of Musk in a T-shirt and cap while standing next to Trump at the White House.

Even Piers Morgan dismissed the criticism, calling it an “absurd question” and pointing out: “Elon Musk doesn’t wear a suit in the Oval Office.”

Another person chimed in, asking: “If Zelenskyy is disrespecting America by not wearing a suit in the Oval Office, then does that mean Elon Musk is disrespecting America too?”

Many accused the critics of hypocrisy, with some even bringing up old photos of Winston Churchill visiting the White House without a suit—just like Zelenskyy—because he, too, was in the middle of a war.
