Prince Harry accuses royal sources of ‘sabotage’ over ‘false claims’ about King Charles reunion

Prince Harry’s spokesman has strongly denied reports about his recent meeting with King Charles, accusing unnamed royal sources of attempting “sabotage” by spreading false stories.

The Duke of Sussex met with his father earlier this month at Clarence House in what was their first face-to-face meeting in 19 months. Initially hailed as a possible turning point, press reports later painted the encounter as distant and formal.

According to The Sun, the 53-minute reunion was polite but stiff, with Harry reportedly joking that he felt more like “an official visitor” than a son. The outlet also claimed he gifted Charles a framed family photo of himself, Meghan, and their children.

Harry’s Office Sets the Record Straight

In a statement to GB News, Harry’s spokesman pushed back, saying:
“Recent reporting of The Duke’s view of the tone of the meeting, is categorically false. The quotes attributed to him are pure invention fed, one can only assume, by sources intent on sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son.”

He confirmed that a framed photograph was indeed exchanged but clarified that it did not feature Meghan or the children. “While we would have preferred such details to remain private, for the sake of clarity we can confirm that a framed photograph was handed over, however the image did not contain the Duke and Duchess.”

Media Response

The Sun has defended its story, noting that Harry’s office was given a chance to comment prior to publication but declined. A spokesman for the paper said: “In his statement, Prince Harry confirms the exchange of gifts, including a family photograph. The office of the Duke of Sussex was given full right of reply in advance of publication… We have today updated the online article to include his new statement.

Inside the Brief Meeting

The King’s schedule that day was packed with engagements, having flown down from Balmoral. Harry arrived at Clarence House at 5:21 p.m. in a Land Rover and departed at 6:14 p.m., just under an hour later, to attend an Invictus Games reception.

Despite speculation, palace aides have dismissed talk that the meeting signaled Harry’s possible return to royal duties or that “high-level talks” were underway about future appearances. Sources also rejected claims that the meeting was meant to strain Charles’s bond with Prince William.

Family Dynamics Still in Focus

Harry’s spokesman stressed that the visit was centered on his charitable commitments and seeing loved ones. “The trip back was about focusing on his patronages and supporting his good causes while also having time to catch up with family and friends.”

A palace aide added that the King’s door remains open for private visits, while denying Harry was attempting to drive a wedge between Charles and William. Meanwhile, a source close to the Prince of Wales dismissed reports of tension with his father as “rubbish.”
