Harry Potter Star Has D.i.e.d

A cherished actor known for his role in the Harry Potter series has passed away, leaving the entertainment world in mourning.

Fans from both the Wizarding World and the Doctor Who fandom have taken to social media to honor the talented performer, whose contributions to these beloved franchises made him a household name.

His performances in these iconic series earned him a lasting place in the hearts of audiences, with a career that spanned decades and made him a familiar face on screens worldwide.

Beyond his work in Harry Potter and Doctor Who, he appeared in numerous classic British television shows, including One Foot in the Grave, The Bill, and Doctors, as well as modern favorites like Getting On and Afterlife.

His talents also extended to the big screen, with roles in various films—including a small part in the Oscar-winning Les Misérables (2012).

Beyond his work in acting, Simon Fisher-Becker was also a writer, a public speaker, and a passionate vlogger, often using social media to connect with fans and share stories from his extraordinary career.

His influence reached far beyond the screen—he was admired for his warmth, humor, and generosity, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.

His agent, Kim Barry of Jaffrey Management, expressed profound sadness over his passing, reflecting on their long-standing professional and personal bond.

“Today I lost not only a client in Simon Fisher-Becker, but a close personal friend of 15 years standing,” she shared in an emotional statement to Metro.

The heartbreaking news was shared by the actor’s husband on social media.

“Hello everyone. This is Tony, Simon Fisher-Becker’s husband. I have some very sad news.

“At 2:50 this afternoon, Simon passed away. I’ll be keeping this account open for a while. I’m not sure at this point if I’ll be posting again. Thank you.”

Tributes poured in from fans who cherished his work and presence.

“His stage routine was one of the funniest things I’ve heard in ages. A dear man who valued his audiences. RIP Simon, shine on,” one person wrote.

Another recalled, “Really sad news. I met him at a con a few years ago and he was really lovely.”

“Incredibly upsetting to hear,” someone else added. “What’s lovely is that both Dorium and the Maldovarium/Maldovar market are plastered all over the Moffat era of Doctor Who. He’ll never be forgotten.”

The actor was most recognized for his role as the ghostly Fat Friar in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001), where he brought to life the warm and jovial spirit of Hufflepuff House.

Although the presence of ghosts was greatly diminished in the films compared to J.K. Rowling’s books, his portrayal left a lasting mark on audiences.

He was also known for playing the mysterious, blue-skinned intergalactic black marketeer Dorium Maldovar in Doctor Who during Matt Smith’s era as the Doctor.

His character quickly became a fan favorite, thanks to his role in major storylines and his unforgettable delivery of iconic lines.

Simon Fisher-Becker, who has passed away at 63, was a beloved actor whose legacy endures through his work and the cherished memories he leaves behind for both his loved ones and devoted fans.
