Prince Harry may ‘meet up with two royals’ during UK visit as chances of reconciliation dashed

Prince Harry may reconnect with two of his royal cousins during his upcoming trip to the UK for the WellChild Awards, according to a royal expert.

The Duke of Sussex, 40, is due to return to Britain for the ceremony on September 8, sparking speculation about whether the visit will also provide a chance to mend family ties.

While a meeting with Prince William and Princess Kate seems unlikely, some commentators suggest Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie could be the ones to bridge the gap.

Beatrice and Eugenie Seen as Possible Mediators

Speaking to The Mirror, royal commentator Jennie Bond explained: “Harry may well see some of his cousins, such as Eugenie or Beatrice.”

However, she dismissed the prospect of a reunion with William and Kate, saying: “I don’t think there’s any likelihood of a meeting with William or Catherine. The rift between the brothers remains too deep, and William has far too much going on in his life to worry about the Harry problem.”

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams agreed, noting that Beatrice and Eugenie are among the few royals who have maintained close ties with Harry and Meghan. He even suggested that King Charles might ask the sisters to represent him at the 2027 Invictus Games, which will be hosted in Birmingham.

“[King Charles] might ask Beatrice and Eugenie, both of whom get on with the Sussexes, to represent him,” Fitzwilliams told Express.

Will Harry Meet King Charles?

Another question raised is whether Harry will also use this trip to see his father. Jennie Bond suggested a meeting is long overdue, saying: “I have always thought that it is the parent’s role to be the bigger person in any family row. You just have to open your arms and say to your child, albeit a grown-up child, ‘Come here you silly so-and-so, and give me a hug.’”

She added that a reunion between Harry and Charles during the awards visit could “hopefully happen.”

Signs of Easing Tensions

Harry’s return comes amid ongoing strain following his memoir Spare and the Sussexes’ Netflix series. Still, insiders claim relations with his father have begun to improve after a recent “peace summit” between their aides in London.

Earlier this year, Harry himself acknowledged the importance of reconciliation, telling the BBC: “It would be nice to reconcile.” Reflecting on King Charles’s cancer diagnosis, he added: “Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has.”

A source later told The Mirror: “It’s clear there is now a determination on both sides to make this happen. This is not about grand gestures or set-piece meetings. It’s about a simple face-to-face conversation between a father and his son.”

A Chance to Rebuild Bridges

Harry’s visit to the UK may prove to be an important moment for easing tensions within the royal family. Whether through his cousins or his father, this trip could provide the opportunity to start repairing fractured relationships.

Royal Insider has approached representatives for Prince Harry and Buckingham Palace for comment on a possible meeting.
